Summer finally arrived this week! There's been none stop sunshine and blue skies which resulted in frequent adventures along the Cornish coastline with Sophie and Louie, another of my housemates here at University.
Our first stop was on Thursday when we went to a secluded beach right by Hells Mouth in Portreath. We spent the majority of the day there swimming and getting wiped out by waves which at times were definitely twice the size of us. We even managed to spot a seal starring us out, presumably questioning what the hell we were trying to achieve by taking on these beasts of the sea... To wrap up the day we headed off to Godrevy and set up our bbq just in time for sunset before passing out back at home.
We decided to use Friday as a day of rest before heading back to Godrevy on Saturday to take on yet more waves along with my trusty body board which I recently purchased. Friday was actually the start of the Sea Shanty Festival in Falmouth, with shanty performances going on all over town. Sunday was the last day of the festival so we spent the day taking in the music, singing and plenty of cider like proper locals.
Monday we took the long journey down to Porthcurno where we spent the day before finally chilling out on Gully Beach back in Falmouth on Tuesday, taking in the last potential rays of summer. Overall, I rather busy but eventful week with great company!
