I've thoroughly enjoyed this week, despite the fact my internship was put on hold. I forget how big London actually is sometimes so it's been fab doing my usual exploring, as well as meeting up with a few friends along the way. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have your own space every once in a while, but I'm very much a people person and I can only go so long without human contact, otherwise, I'd probably just go insane!
I finally managed to squeeze in a trip to Camden markets which I'd heard so much about, but never actually visited. I went down with my buddy Chloe from University who's also doing an internship this month. I was particularly keen to hunt down this stall that I'd heard about online that sold halloumi fries. We were lucky enough to get the last batch of the day and they are definitely a must try if you ever end up around that area! Another big highlight had to be my visit to the house of MinaLima, a graphic design company known best for their works in the Harry Potter franchise. I myself am a huge Harry Potter fan and this was a really nice insight aside from the studio tours. Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the founders of MinaLima were responsible for the designs of the Daily Prophet covers that featured in the films as well as other small details that might not necessarily be picked up on straight away in the actual movies but created a sense of realism for the audience. Things such as label designs for potions or sweet packets or book covers for various classes in the Wizarding World were all featured in the showcase in the most quirky little building I've ever stepped foot in. It's definitely worth a trip if you have the chance.
To summarise, a really eventful and jam packed week, however, I'm rather eager for the real work to start now.
